Creating Meaningful Connections, One Tile at a Time.

It Started With a Seat at the Table

Tile & Toast began the same way so many meaningful friendships do — around a table.

Emily had opened her home and invited women in her community to gather and play MahJongg. Molly came to join, and somewhere between the tiles, conversation, and laughter, the two immediately connected. We knew we needed to be friends.

What began as a shared love of the game quickly became a shared vision.

For Emily, MahJongg had already shown its ability to turn strangers into friends. After being welcomed to the game by a woman who generously taught her to play, she watched that same spirit of connection grow into a community of women gathering, learning, and building friendships around the table.

For Molly, the connection went back generations. Growing up in a family where games were part of gathering together, she later rediscovered MahJongg and its connection to her beloved Granny, who organized MahJongg leagues and clubs wherever she lived. Carrying that tradition forward became especially meaningful.

Together, we realized we wanted to create something that brought all of those pieces together — the tradition of the game, the beauty of gathering, and the kind of hospitality that makes everyone feel like they have a seat at the table.

And Tile & Toast was born.

Today, we create thoughtfully curated MahJongg experiences where people can learn, play, celebrate, and connect — honoring the tradition of the game while welcoming a new generation to the table.

Because for us, it has always been more than a game.
